About ZenShiatu and Traditional Thai Massage

Zen Shiatsu is a pressure point massage with Japanese origin. It is a very static technique, but gets nicely balanced when combined with the more flowing and dynamic Traditional Thai massage.

Traditional Thai Massage, an ancient healing method rooted in Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine, was originally used on Buddhist monks, yogis, and martial art practitioners. It is also known as Thai Yoga Massage because it combines Yoga, Meditation and Acupressure.

Both ZenShiatsu as Traditional Thai Massage work with pressure points and energy lines known as meridians.

When you undergo a ZenThaiShiatsu Massage your body will be lengthened, your hips will be opened, your shoulders become relaxed, and your muscles more flexible. It improves your energy balance, your blood circulation and your energy flow, it reduces stress, revitalizes every system of your body, increases body consciousness and improves the functionality of your organs. You become more relaxed and your mind and thoughts clear and refresh.

About Relaxation (oil) Massage

A relaxation massage is a whole-body hands-on treatment that uses pressure, stroking and rubbing of your skin to help you relax. This type of massage does not go as deep as the ZenThaiShiatsu, but has its own benefits: it improves your blood circulation so that more oxygen is send to your organs and skin, and it moves the fluids through your lymphatic system. A relaxation massage encourages your body to digest its food, and get rid of its toxins. It will help you to sleep better. A massage will also help unknot any muscles, soothe aches and sprains and encourage the skin to heal minor abrasions.

During the massage silence, with a nice relaxing background music, is preferred. It is important for you as well as for the masseur to be in the present moment while you focus on the touch and feel what is happening in your body . Only then a treatment will have its ultimate effect.

About Marit



Marit Kaemingk has been practicing massage since 2007. She finished an one year Shiatsu degree at the Qing Bai Institute for Chinese Medicine in the Netherlands, and has got a chair massage license.

From 2008 till 2010 she completed several courses of ZenThaiShiatsu massage, among others in Australia, Bali and Laos, with well-respected massage masters from all over the world.

Marit loves physical interaction with people and is convinced about the healing power of touch. Being in balance and harmony with yourself and everything around you is very important to her - she believes massage is one of the things that highly improves this.

When Marit got to know the school for Shiatsu and Chinese Medicine, a whole new world opened up to her; a world of ancient knowledge and logic based on a holistic way of thinking. She found herself a life mission, something she puts all her love and devotion into.

Marit is fortunate to stay in Casa Lepe on the beautiful island of La Gomera for six weeks, from the first of March till the thirteenth of April 2011. This magical spot under the gigantic avocado tree, with its view over the big blue ocean, is perfect for healing and relaxation.
